Are There Hidden Costs?

Another question people have is are there hidden costs that I don’t know about.

First you need to read the retainer agreement. It’ll tell you that you know what the costs are plus the attorney’s fees and it’s usually a contingency fee meaning it’s certain percentage of the case value that the money that you get on a case.

Are there some other costs that are involved? Sure they come out of the total amount costs such as

• medical bills
• medical records costs
• serving process
• court reporters
• copies from the doctors – they charge us
• postage
• expert witness fees
• depot fees
• the transcription of the deposition

The bottom line is the question really is “How much do I get?”. I always suggest that people ask their attorney “Who gets the most? The attorney or me?”

So regardless of all the bills regardless of medical bills regardless of what we pay for experts in that kind of stuff we still make sure that the client gets more than the attorneys.
